CLEVELAND — The Fabulous Food Show at Cleveland’s International Exposition Center has been a signature event on the Cleveland foodie calendar since 2006, but organizers said Monday that the 2017 show has been canceled. They plan to bring it back Nov. 9-11, 2018, after skipping this fall.

Michael Symon, a mainstay at the Food Show in most years, called the event’s hiatus this year “sad.”

“I don’t have a ton of insight. It’s something they said they plan on bringing back,” Symon told cleveland. com’s Nikki Delamotte this week. “I think they’re trying to rework the model a little bit.”

Symon, who owns several restaurants in Cleveland, including Lola Bistro, Mabel’s BBQ and B Spot Burgers, is known nationally because of his hosting duties on “The Chew” and “Iron Chef America” appearances.

The Food Show brings in celebrity chefs and attracts serious to casual foodies checking out culinary demonstrations, chefs on the show’s stages, samples, demonstrations and more.
