Computer fi rm to hire 40 in area
Computer-hardware company King Memory plans to expand in Columbus, adding 40 jobs over the next three years.
The company was one of four companies in the state to receive approval from the Ohio Tax Credit Authority for state tax incentives on Friday. The four projects are expected to create 72 jobs and retain 162 others. They are expected to result in more than $14.8 million in new payroll and $605,000 in investments.
King Memory has 26 employees and an annual payroll of $924,000. The 40 additional jobs will have
annual payroll of $2 million.
Some of the jobs will be at the company’s existing location at 380 Morrison Road, and a to-be-determined location Downtown will house developers and creative positions.
“Not only does operating in Columbus provide us with an incredible cost-ofliving advantage relative to our competitors, primarily located in California, but it also allows us to be part of a vibrant community and growing technology sector,” said Darryl Tanner, King Memory’s CEO, in a statement. “We look forward to adding new
talent to our team, drawing from Columbus’ skilled workforce.”
The company will fill jobs in production, software development, data science and security/hardware.
The tax credits have an estimated value of $155,000.
