Bernardello played ahead to recently acquired Swiss midfielder Blerim Dzemaili, who found an open Anthony JacksonHamel to his right.

Jackson-Hamel swiftly beat Crew goalkeeper Zack Steffen for his fifth goal of the season, drawing the Impact even at 1-1 in the 19th minute.

The Montreal goal came on its only shot on target in the first half, but there were additional scary moments for the Crew SC defense. In the 33rd minute, a poorly hit clearance by Jonathan Mensah sailed directly to Dzemaili in the center of the box. Dzemaili didn’t get a second touch, however, as Steffen came off his line to smother the ball.

Crew SC wraps up a two-game homestand Saturday night against Atlanta United. Atlanta defeated Crew SC 3-1 last Saturday.
