Red Sox rally for victory over Twins

BOSTON — David Price won for the second time in three starts, Mookie Betts and Hanley Ramirez hit solo home runs, and the Boston Red Sox rallied from a three-run deficit to beat the Minnesota Twins 6-3 on Thursday night.

Price (3-2) threw a season-high 112 pitches over seven innings, allowing three runs and six hits with seven strikeouts and no walks. Craig Kimbrel pitched a one-hit ninth for his AL-leading 22nd save in 23 chances, finishing Boston’s last home game before the All-Star break.

Michael Fulmer came within one out of a shutout, and the Detroit Tigers hit three home runs in a victory over the Kansas City Royals.

Carlos Correa homered twice and drove in four runs and the Houston Astros got a win over the Oakland Athletics. go-ahead two-run double during a three-run ninth-inning rally against Blake Treinen, lifting the Chicago Cubs over the Washington Nationals.

Jameson Taillon scattered seven hits over 6 1/3 innings, Gregory Polanco and John Jaso hit solo home runs and the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Tampa Bay Rays.

Ubaldo Jimenez pitched two-hit ball over eight innings, Jonathan Schoop had two hits and an RBI and the Baltimore Orioles beat the Toronto Blue Jays.

Jay Bruce had a pair of RBI hits and scored twice, and the New York Mets took the rubber game of their series against the Miami Marlins, winning to finish 5-5 on a road trip. until Stephen Drew entered as a defensive replacemen­t in the ninth.
