Mnuchin says no to tax hike on wealthy

WASHINGTON — Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said Sunday the Trump administra­tion isn’t considerin­g a tax increase on wealthier Americans, knocking down a report that White House adviser Steve Bannon had floated the idea as a way to pay for tax cuts for middle-income taxpayers.

“I have never heard Steve mention that,” Mnuchin said.

The administra­tion is aiming to release its full tax plan by September and have Congress approve it by the end of the year, Mnuchin said on ABC News’ “This Week.” Bainbridge Island, authoritie­s said.

The man’s death about 10 miles west of Seattle across Elliott Bay ended an hourslong standoff that temporaril­y forced the suspension of ferry services.

Authoritie­s said the man, who had not been identified, began firing shots randomly about 8:30 p.m. Saturday. When officers arrived, he began shooting at them. to embrace change that was derived from a story Johnson had told at parties and used in speeches. The book became a cultural constant in the late 1990s; parody versions soon began popping up.
