Health-care reform must be group effort

-

Our president does not know how the common folk have to live week to week and struggle to make ends meet. The same for health care for those people who have to figure out a way to have health insurance, like Obamacare.

President Donald Trump says now: “Let Obamacare fail.” That is wrong. Obamacare is not perfect, but has been workable for seven years. We cannot let millions of people be without health insurance and cannot have premiums skyrocket. As Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W. Va., said, let’s get together in Congress and go over the parts of Obamacare that do not work and repair, not replace. That is a plan that will work if both the Republicans and Democrats are willing to work together.

Then, we don’t have to continue hearing “repeal and replace.”

President Trump says: “Make America great again.” Bring the manufacturing jobs back to America. I agree with that, but he needs to include himself and his daughter in doing that with their businesses. I am willing to pay more for products made in America vs. overseas as that creates jobs here.

Trump also wants to build a wall between us and Mexico that will keep illegal immigrants out of our country, but have Mexico pay for it, which it will not. I agree we need to keep illegal immigrants out of our country, but 95 percent of the taxpayers cannot afford to pay for the wall. Let the 5 percent richest Americans pay for the wall.
