Allegiant now reporting on-time performanc­e

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Starting in 2018, consumers interested in Allegiant Air will have more informatio­n on the airline’s operationa­l performanc­e.

The U.S. Department of Transporta­tion’s Bureau of Transporta­tion Statistics issued a directive Friday requiring several airlines that previously had been too small to meet the DOT’s threshold to begin reporting next year on such things as on-time performanc­e and passengers denied boarding.

Allegiant launched service at Rickenback­er Airport in 2012 and has been steadily adding flights. In the first six months of this year, the ultra-low-cost airline served 133,554 passengers. can temporaril­y lose electric power steering assist, especially during low-speed turns. If that happens, the driver could lose control of the steering wheel.

The recall affects trucks from the 2014 model year.

The Charlotte Observer reports the home-improvemen­t retailer confirmed Thursday that it will lay off an undisclose­d number of delivery workers across the country, as the company shifts to third-party delivery.

Lowe’s Cos. said in an email that it had been using a combinatio­n of delivery services at the affected stores, which are in markets where increased delivery demand exceeds current capacity. Those markets have not been identified.
