Schmeling’s 3 TDs lead Orange over Kilbourne

Luke Schmeling threw a pair of touchdown passes and ran for another score to help Olentangy Orange roll over host Worthingto­n Kilbourne 32-7 in a nonleague game Friday night.

Schmeling threw for 145 yards, connecting with Manny Anderson four times for 68 yards, including a 43-yard TD strike in the opening quarter.

Graham Starn put the Pioneers on the board first with a 36-yard TD run and finished with 83 yards on the ground. In his first start, Josh Stewart completed 14 of 20 passes for 160 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 103 yards and another score to help visiting Bradley rout Findlay. Two of Stewart’s touchdown passes went to Kory Taylor. Grant Buehl paced the Jaguars’ run game with 139 yards and a TD. Jack Richards added 83 yards and three short scores. Bradley racked of 503 yards of offense.

Westervill­e North put 14 points on the board in the first quarter and 13 in the fourth in shutting out host Groveport. North’s defense forced four fumbles and recovered three, including one by Alek Downs, who fell on the ball in the end zone to give the Warriors a 20-0 lead. Gavin Sturdivant rushed for 149 yards and a score, Marcus Ernst added 91 yards and two TD runs, and Dublin Coffman blanked host Perrysburg.

Caine Martin ran for 156 yards and a touchdown as Zanesville edged visiting Newark. Jake Morgan threw for 130 yards and a TD pass and ran for another for the Wildcats.
