JOHN F. WOLFE COLUMBUS COMMONS, EAST RICH AND SOUTH HIGH STREETS

The Commons summer season will end with a bang when the Downtown park hosts three days of familyfriendly events.

“We want to end with a special weekend for all the people who love the Commons,” said Amy Taylor, chief operating officer with the Columbus Downtown Development Corporation, which owns and operates the Commons.

The festivities will begin on Friday evening with a free performance from Ohio-based country rock band McGuffey Lane. Grassinine will open the show.

Saturday afternoon will be dedicated to youngsters, with plenty of fun activities filling the Commons field. During the Family Funday, children can play miniature golf, play laser tag or jump in inflatable houses.

When the event ends at 4 p.m., visitors can stay for a screening of “The Jungle Book” (2016).

The finale takes place Sunday with a Shadowbox Live performance of “Bigger than Jesus,” a live “rockumentary” with covers of the Beatles’ music and actual footage of the band.
