Illegal immigration is wrong, period

-

I respond to the uproar over President Donald Trump’s decision to phase out the program that allowed young, undocumented immigrants to stay in the United States. Just what part of “illegal immigration” do people not understand? It means “against the laws.”

I’m a huge football fan and enjoy attending Ohio State University games. I pay for my ticket well ahead of game day, and go through the gate for admission and get screened by security, and I don’t complain. I don’t climb the fence or cut a hole in it for admission, and then sit in someone else’s seat. I follow the rules of conduct while in the stadium or face getting removed, possibly arrested. Most in attendance are happy to see security maintained.

In the United States, football generates billions of dollars in revenue and provides a lot of jobs. Ticket holders wouldn’t stand for others climbing the fence and sitting in their seats or otherwise depriving them of watching the game. After all, climbing the stadium fence is illegal. OSU officials would be the first to detain them, obtain identity for possible prosecution and/or issue a trespass notice, and then turn them over to proper authorities for removal from the property.

If someone were born in the Shoe, would that entitle them to free tuition and lifetime season tickets? Notice the similarities?

Most citizens are not antiimmigration, just anti-illegal immigration.
