Jack­ets seek first play­off re­peat

Any num­ber of words can be used to de­scribe the 2014-15 sea­son for the Blue Jack­ets. When gen­eral man­ager Jarmo Kekalainen re­cently de­scribed it as a “dis­ap­point­ment,” that didn’t go far enough for pres­i­dent of hockey op­er­a­tions John David­son.

He called it “tor­ture.” Those ex­pect­ing the Blue Jack­ets to re­turn to the post­sea­son, or to at least avoid a crip­pling early sea­son los­ing streak, were left want­ing, and a late-sea­son surge ul­ti­mately came up short.
