New Albany makes late charge, beats Westervill­e North in OT

Jalin Jackson ran for a tying score with 3:33 left in the fourth quarter and threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Luke Muter in overtime to lead host New Albany over Westervill­e North 27-26 in a nonleague game Friday night.

Jackson, who finished with 101 yards passing and 23 yards rushing, helped rally the Eagles (2-3) from a 20-10 deficit in the fourth quarter to force OT.

John Fernandez of Westervill­e North (2-3) answered in overtime with a 25-yard touchdown pass to Dorian Reynolds, but a twopoint conversion pass fell incomplete.

Rondale Smith scored all three touchdowns in regulation for the Warriors. He finished with 83 yards rushing, and Bodi Bien led North with 87. Austin Sigler added touchdown runs in helping the Greyhounds gain 415 yards rushing. Sigler also threw for 179 yards and two TDs. Franklin Heights quarterbac­k Cody Little threw for 159 yards and two touchdowns and added 128 yards rushing.

Taveon Falls ran for 131 yards and a touchdown, Jaelen Gill had 127 yards and two TDs, and Westervill­e South (3-2) beat visiting Big Walnut (0-5) in a nonleague game. Falls and Gill combined to rush for 17.2 yards per carry as the Wildcats piled up 373 yards rushing and 527 overall. Max Barber threw for 154 yards and two touchdowns for the Wildcats. Matt Priestas scored both touchdowns for Big Walnut. Kyron Rogers hit Eric Holsinger for a 76-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter, and visiting Dublin Scioto (2-3, 1-1) beat Delaware (2-3, 0-1) in the Ohio Capital Conference Cardinal. Rogers finished with 175 yards passing for the Irish. Trey Ballengee, then ran for a 59-yard TD as Dublin Jerome (3-2, 2-0) shut out visiting Hilliard Darby (2-3, 0-2) in an OCC Cardinal game. Alie Intihar ran back a fumble return 92 yards for a touchdown to give the Celtics a 21-0 halftime lead. Adam Primm scored touchdowns on both of his two receptions, his last a 7-yarder with 2:52 remaining, and Olentangy (4-1) beat host Marysville (2-3) in a nonleague game. Primm gave the Braves a 7-0 lead in the first quarter on a 23-yard TD pass from Riley Bruening. Bruening threw for 208 yards and three touchdowns, including a 39-yarder to Caden Kaiser, who finished with 110 yards receiving.

Josh Stewart threw for 270 yards and three touchdowns in leading host Hilliard Bradley (5-0, 2-0) past Thomas Worthingto­n (3-2, 0-2) in an OCC Cardinal game. Stewart completed 15 of 28 passes and hooked up with Daevon Anderson seven times for 184 yards, including touchdowns of 72 and 51 yards. Khalil Jones caught a pair touchdown passes to give Thomas a 17-14 lead at the half. He finished with 56 yards receiving and added 45 on the ground.

Ben Bohne passed for two touchdowns and ran for another to lead host Central Crossing (2-3) over Groveport (0-5) in a nonleague game. Owen Lakso caught both scoring strikes from Bohne, and Tyrese Kelso added 94 yards rushing and a touchdown for the Comets.

Tyler Monk’s 20-yard touchdown run in the third quarter proved to be the winner for visiting Lancaster (2-3) against Hilliard Davidson (1-4). Monk finished with 85 yards on nine carries. D.J. Pearson added 51 yards and a second-quarter TD run for the Gaels.

Quarterbac­k Deamatric Crenshaw and Jamir Jackson each ran for two touchdowns to lead host Pickeringt­on Central (4-1) to a nonleague win over Upper Arlington (2-3). Crenshaw had 196 total yards for the Tigers, who jumped out to a 20-0 lead at halftime.

Jack Applegate ran for three touchdowns and Graham Starn rumbled for two more to help host Olentangy Orange (5-0) overwhelm Newark (0-5) in a nonleague game. Jayden Rogers returned the opening kickoff 86 yards for a touchdown for Orange, which scored 29 points in the first quarter.

Guy Cowans-Wright ran for 174 yards and scored the decisive touchdown late to help Reynoldsbu­rg (4-1) fend off host Westervill­e Central (2-3) in a nonleague game. The Warhawks took a 17-14 lead with the help of two touchdown runs by Isaiah Healy, who finished with 208 yards passing and 93 rushing. Gabe Philhower kicked two field goals and Jay Amburgey recovered a fumble in the end zone to give the Raiders a 27-17 lead. Westervill­e Central responded with two touchdown runs, including Healy’s third. But Justin Henry scored on a 2-yard run and Cowans-Wright added his 8-yard score late in the fourth quarter. Allen Smith led the Warhawks with 182 yards rushing.
