Second-half explosion fuels Bloom- Carroll win

Frankie Williams blew open a tie game with three second-half touchdown runs to lift BloomCarro­ll (4-1, 1-1) over host Hamilton Township 42-20 in a Mid-State League Buckeye Division game Friday night.

Williams finished with 237 yards on 22 carries and had touchdown runs of 75, 41 and 11 yards to help the Bulldogs take a 42-14 lead. Drysten Crallie led the Rangers (2-3, 0-1) with 196 total yards, 104 rushing and 92 receiving.

James Lachey rushed for 135 yards and three touchdowns, and host Grandview (3-2, 1-0) shut out Bexley (0-5, 0-2) in an MSL Ohio game. Luke Lachey scored on a 55-yard punt return in the third quarter for the Bobcats. Tyler Karr in helping visiting Heath (1-4) down Lakewood (0-5) in a nonleague game. Karr passed for 191 yards and Simon Romine rushed for 145 yards for the Bulldogs.

Licking Heights (4-1) racked up 361 yards on the ground and walloped host Newark Catholic (1-4) in a nonleague game. Cody Wilson scored a pair of TDs for the Hornets, who led 34-7 at halftime. Hunter Chapman threw two TD passes for Newark Catholic. Quarterbac­k Josh Handley accounted for the game’s first three touchdowns, and London (5-0) blanked host Circlevill­e (2-3) in a nonleague game. Handley ran for a pair of short scores and threw a 36-yard TD pass to Jimmy Dulin. KJ Price, who had 204 yards on the ground, scored the game’s final two TDs.
