The old Taylor Swift might be dead, but the new one will perform in July at Ohio Stadium.

On the heels of the release Friday of her latest album, “Reputation,” Swift on Saturday night revealed a darker, edgier style as the musical guest on “Saturday Night Live.” The pop star followed up the “SNL” stint on Monday by announcing her “Reputation” stadium tour this summer, which will include a July 7 stop at the home of the Buckeyes.

Swift was last in Columbus in September 2015 for two nights of sold-out shows at Nationwide Arena.

The current tour so far includes 27 U.S. dates, beginning May 8 in Arizona and concluding Oct. 6 in Texas. The Columbus show is one of two in Ohio; Swift also will perform July 17 at First Energy Stadium in Cleveland, the home of the Browns.

Swift, a 10-time Grammy winner, plans to announce international dates later.

The tour will promote Swift’s sixth studio album, which was released to generally favorable critical reviews. “Reputation” is the follow-up to her massively successful “1989,” the bestselling album of 2014.

With singles such as “... Ready for It?” and “Look What You Made Me Do,” the album’s electronic pop and dubstep elements are a sharp departure from the singer/songwriter’s early country music days.

Swift proclaimed the transformation herself in August’s meme-inspiring single “Look What You Made Me Do” with the lyrics “the old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now … Why? ‘Cause she’s dead.”

Tickets to the Ohio Stadium show will go on sale Dec. 13 through Ticketmaster.com. Hoping to deter scalpers, Swift and Ticketmaster are allowing fans to register to purchase tickets now through Nov. 28.
