Portman to speak at OSU graduation
The thousands of students graduating from Ohio State University this December will hear from U.S. Sen. Rob Portman, an Ohio Republican, as they embark on their post-grad journeys.
The Cincinnati native will address students at Ohio State’s autumn commencement, the university announced Monday. More than 3,600 students will receive degrees during the Dec. 17 event at the Jerome Schottenstein Center.
Ohio State president Dr. Michael V. Drake praised Portman’s experience and record of service and legislative engagement.
“His extensive knowledge and experience will energize our students as they consider ways they might create their own mark on our broader world,” Drake said in a statement.
Ohio State is implementing a ticketing process for its autumn commencement this year. Tickets are free, but graduating students must request tickets for their guests. Students will be guaranteed four tickets and will have the option to join a wait-list for additional tickets.
