Trump seeks Xi’s help with UCLA case
President Donald Trump has asked his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, to help settle the shoplifting case against three UCLA players, a White House spokesman said.
Trump spoke with Xi during a visit to Beijing last week that came shortly after the three Bruins freshmen had been questioned in connection with the theft of designer sunglasses from a shopping mall in Hangzhou, where UCLA played Georgia Tech.
LiAngelo Ball, Cody Riley and Jalen Hill have remained at their hotel awaiting resolution of their case while their teammates returned to Los Angeles.
