Government can’t solve our problems

-

I feel truly privileged to live in a nation of such generous people. We support more than a million nonprofits. An unfortunate side-effect of generosity seems to be gullibility.

Now our government is threatening the internet gatekeepers with censorship if they don’t regulate fake news, while completely ignoring fake news from mainstream media and government itself.

I stand with the founders of this great nation in believing that the best defense against fake news is a vigilant and educated citizenry. Seriously, one woman did not provide enough breast milk for seven days to prevent 16 people from starving.

We all know that you can’t get something for nothing and, if the government is involved, you can’t even get something for something.

I firmly believe that we can work together to solve all of our problems, as we always have in the past. Big government cannot solve any of our problems. It was established to protect us from foreign adversaries and protect our constitutional rights. Period. Failed programs include energy independence, war on poverty and nation-building. Major social programs like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid are all illegal pyramid schemes that must ultimately fail.

Big government cannot order the tide not to come in.
