Two men fatally shot on same county road

HILLSBORO — A man armed with a gun allegedly broke into a home and was fatally shot by one of the homeowners, while another man was found fatally shot in a car on the same road, authoritie­s said.

Highland County Sheriff Donnie Barrera said emergency crews responding to a reported one-vehicle crash around 6:30 a.m. Friday in Union Township found a man dead in the car from a gunshot wound. Then Barrera’s office received a call around 7 a.m. about a break-in at a nearby home.

Barrera said one of the homeowners fatally shot the intruder. Authoritie­s didn’t provide additional informatio­n.

The Times-Gazette reported that Barrera said there was no evidence the men killed entered the home together, but it’s believed they were together before the home invasion. said the workers check manholes about once a month, making it difficult to determine how long the remains might have been there.

Lt. Doug Bobovnyik said authoritie­s are unsure whether it’s a man or a woman because not all of the parts have been found. murder warrant was taken into custody Friday.

Cleveland.com reported that court records accuse him of firing the shots that killed Abdel Bashiti, a seventh-grader from Parma.

The boy was with his father when they walked outside their family’s beauty supply store after the shooting began.

Two 15-year-old boys and a 21-year-old woman also have been arrested in connection with the shooting on Nov. 24.

Police say at least 20 shots were fired at a group of teenage boys standing outside a liquor store.
