Pickeringt­on Central tops Reynoldsbu­rg in OT

Maliya Perry totaled 21 points, eight rebounds and three steals to power host Pickeringt­on Central over Reynoldsbu­rg 56-50 in overtime Friday night in an Ohio Capital Conference Ohio Division clash of area girls basketball powers.

Madison Greene, who chipped in 13 points, five rebounds and four assists, sank the clinching free throws in overtime for the Tigers (8-1, 5-0), who held for a final shot to win it in regulation but missed as time expired. Bexley Wallace added 11 points.

Uju Ezeudu had 17 points and nine rebounds to pace Reynoldsbu­rg (7-2, 3-1), which jumped to a 10-2 lead. Host Liberty (5-2, 2-2) shot out to a 22-8 first-quarter lead and beat Liberty (4-3, 1-3) in OCC Buckeye play. Kennedy Kashmir scored 18 points and Whitney Levering added 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Patriots. Alyssa Wright had 18 points and Bethany Worm scored 17 for North.

Maggie Crozier scored 28 points as Worthingto­n Kilbourne (1-7, 1-4) used a pair of 21-12 quarters to win an OCC Cardinal game at Delaware (3-4, 0-4). Jordan Lantz topped the Pacers with 18 points. Whitney Staggs scored 16 points and sister Macy Staggs chipped in 12 as Whetstone (6-3, 3-1) hung on for a City North win at Mifflin (4-5, 4-2). Aliyah Mullins led Mifflin with 16 points.

Africentri­c (8-0, 6-0) raced to a 7-0 lead and was never threatened in a victory at City South rival Eastmoor Academy (7-2, 5-1). Jordan Horston topped the Nubians with 17 points. Maliyah Johnson added 13. Mchale Grant had 13 points for Eastmoor.

Abby Murtellaro scored 15 points as Granville (3-4, 2-3) claimed a Licking County League win at Licking Heights (3-4, 3-2). Nashala Coffman of Licking Heights scored a game-high 18 points and added 10 rebounds.
