Oklahoma ends TCU’s nation’s-best win streak

FORT WORTH, Texas — Freshman Trae Young scored 39 points, including the tiebreakin­g free throws with 7.9 seconds left, and No. 12 Oklahoma overcome a 13-point deficit in the second half to beat No. 10 Texas Christian 90-89 on Saturday and end the nation's longest winning streak.

The Horned Frogs (12-1, 0-1 Big 12) saw their 17-game winning streak end.

Young scored 17 points in the final 9½ minutes for the Sooners (11-1, 1-0), the biggest when the freshman was fouled on a drive to the basket and made both free throws.

Kameron McGusty added 22 points for the Sooners, including a go-ahead threepoint­er with 26 seconds left after Young missed from long range. Jamuni Mcneace grabbed the rebound and fed outside to McGusty.

NO. 17 ARIZONA 84, NO. 3 ARIZONA STATE 78: Deandre Ayton and Allonzo Trier each scored 23 points to lead host Arizona (11-3, 1-0 Pac-12) over Arizona State (12-1, 0-1)

NO. 4 DUKE 100, NO. 24 FLORIDA STATE 93: Freshman Marvin Bagley III had 32 points and 21 rebounds, and host Duke (13-1, 1-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) pulled away to beat Florida State (11-2, 0-1). The Seminoles took a 91-89 lead with just under four minutes left, but they missed their final eight shots, six of which were three-point attempts.

ALABAMA 79, NO. 5 TEXAS A&M 57: John Petty made five threepoint­ers and scored 18 points to help host Alabama (9-4, 1-0 Southeaste­rn Conference) knock off Texas A&M (11-2, 0-1). The Aggies were without leading scorer DJ Hogg, serving the second of a three-game suspension for violating school policy, and starting guard Admon Gilder (knee injury).

NO. 8 WICHITA STATE 72, CONNECTICU­T 62: Landry Shamet scored 16 points to lead visiting Wichita State (11-2, 1-0) over UConn (7-6, 0-1) in the Shockers' first American Athletic Conference game. With the score tied with just over nine minutes left, Wichita State went on a 15-6 run.

NO. 9 VIRGINIA 59, BOSTON COLLEGE 58: Ty Jerome scored a career-high 31 points, including two free throws with 53 seconds left, and host Virginia (12-1, 1-0 ACC) held off Boston College (10-4, 1-1).

NO. 13 NORTH CAROLINA 73, WAKE FOREST 69: Joel Berry II hit a high-arcing floater in the paint with 10.3 seconds left, and host North Carolina (12-2, 1-0 ACC) scored the last eight points to beat Wake Forest (7-6, 0-1). ARKANSAS 95, NO. 19 TENNESSEE 93: Daryl Macon scored 33 points and Jaylen Barford added 28, and host Arkansas (11-2, 1-0 Southeaste­rn Conference) rallied from a nine-point, second-half deficit to beat Tennessee (9-3, 0-1).

NO. 14 PURDUE 98, LIPSCOMB 66: Vincent Edwards had 23 points and 15 rebounds, and host Purdue (13-2) pulled away after leading just 43-38 at halftime to beat Lipscomb (9-5). MINNESOTA 65, HARVARD 55: Jordan Murphy scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, posting his national-best 15th double-double, to pace host Minnesota (12-3) over Harvard (5-8). ILLINOIS 62, GRAND CANYON 58: Leron Black scored a gamehigh 20 points, and Da'Monte Williams made a three-pointer with 17 seconds left from the top of the key to help host Illinois (10-5) hold off Grand Canyon (10-5).

MICHIGAN 76, JACKSONVIL­LE 51: Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman scored 20 points, and host Michigan (12-3) won its season-high fifth game in a row by beating Jacksonvil­le (5-10).

WISCONSIN 82, MASS.-LOWELL 53: Brevin Pritzl and Ethan Happ each scored 18 points to lead host Wisconsin (8-7) over Massachuse­tts Lowell (6-7). NORTHWESTE­RN 95, BROWN 73: Dererk Pardon scored 18 points, and host Northweste­rn (10-5) used a 20-3 run to turn back Brown (6-6).

PENN STATE 88, COPPIN STATE 43: Host Penn State (11-4) led by 20 at halftime and scored 22 unanswered over a 6:09 stretch midway through the second half to overwhelm Coppin State (0-15).
