Haley reportedly talking with Browns

Offensive coordinato­r Todd Haley, who was fired last week by the Pittsburgh Steelers, has discussed the Cleveland Browns’ offensive coordinato­r position with coach Hue Jackson, a person told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the team is not confirming any interviews.

Haley spent six years with Pittsburgh before he was let go following a playoff loss to Jacksonvil­le. ESPN first reported the Browns were in “serious talks” with Haley, whose contract expired after the Steelers were stunned 45-42 by the Jaguars.

Jackson has handled the Browns’ offensive coordinato­r duties the past two seasons, but after going 0-16, he said he was open to hiring a coordinato­r. Jackson previously interviewe­d Houston quarterbac­ks coach Sean Ryan and fired New York Giants coach Ben McAdoo for the job. scored a pair of second-half goals, and the U.S. women’s national team opened the year with a 5-1 victory over Denmark on Sunday.

Alex Morgan, Julie Ertz and Crystal Dunn also scored for the top-ranked United States. The match was the first for a year that will include qualifying for the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France. The Americans are the defending champion of the sport’s premier event. Kelly bounced back from an inexplicab­le miss off the tee to stun Colin Montgomeri­e in the season opener on the PGA Tour Champions.

Kelly made an 18-foot birdie putt on the final hole, Montgomeri­e missed a 6-footer for par and Kelly turned a one-shot deficit into a one-shot victory over Montgomery Saturday in the Mitsubishi Electric Championsh­ip.
