Alliance Data adds Lucky Brand as client

PLANO, Texas — Alliance Data Systems’ Columbus-based cardservic­es business has signed an agreement to provide privatelab­el, co-brand and commercial credit-card services for Lucky Brand, the southern California jeans retailer.

Founded in 1990 in Los Angeles, Lucky Brand operates 154 specialty retail and 82 outlet locations throughout the U.S., and online at LuckyBrand.com. This year, Lucky Brand also announced plans to bolster sales through an expanded portfolio of merchandis­e such as bedding and home décor products. The brand also produces apparel, shoes, accessorie­s and jewelry for men and women that are sold in more than 200 retail stores.

Alliance Data will develop and launch a tailored card program for Lucky Brand, focusing on offering customers rewards for purchases made with the store-branded credit card as well as special offers and such benefits certificat­es for discounts.

In 2011, the department set up a partnershi­p with the Ohio attorney general’s office and the Ohio Department of Taxation to determine, on an annual basis, if agents are compliant with Ohio laws when it comes to income taxes, sales taxes and workers’ compensati­on premiums.

The state has collected money or set up payment plans for more than 1,600 agents. The state has nearly 220,000 agents.

The state can revoke, suspect or refuse to issue an insurance license for those not in compliance with these laws.
