Laksa’s 41 overwhelm Buckeyes

- By Andrew Erickson

The names by now are etched into Ohio State’s memory: Louisville’s Asia Durr, Maryland’s Eleanna Christinaki, Michigan’s Hallie Thome and Iowa’s Megan Gustafson, to name a few.

When an opponent’s key scorer heats up in the opening minutes against the Buckeyes, it spells trouble. A Sunday nonconference game at South Florida added another name to the list.

Ohio State did not properly defend South Florida junior Kitija Laksa throughout, and the Latvia native’s careerhigh 41 points doomed Ohio State in the Bulls’ 84-65 upset
