Deaths tied to suspect raised to six in Canada

TORONTO — Canadian police charged a serial-killer suspect on Friday with another murder, bringing the total to six.

Detective Sgt. Hank Idsinga said the remains of three of the six victims have been identified, and that other charges are likely.

The remains were found at a property that suspect Bruce McArthur used as storage for his landscapin­g business.

The latest murder charge involves 40-year-old Skanda Navaratnam, missing since 2010.

The U.S. Immigratio­n and Customs Enforcemen­t Agency said 65 percent of arrests from October to December involved criminals, compared with 82 percent during the final full three months of the Obama administra­tion.

Looked at another way, arrests of criminals jumped 14 percent, to 25,626 from 22,484, but arrests of non-criminals nearly tripled, to 13,548 from 4,918.

Overall, there were 39,174 deportatio­n arrests from October to December. humanitari­an cease-fire across Syria was delayed until Saturday to try to close a gap over the timing of a halt.
