LONDON — A Madison County man faces additional charges in the home-invasion shootout last month that killed two and injured two others.

Tevin Howard Jackson, 24, who was charged with one count of aggravated murder, now faces additional charges of murder, attempted murder, felonious assault, aggravated burglary and having a weapon under disability.

He and Justin Coffey, also 24, are accused of breaking into the London home of William Benson and Zachary Edmond on Jan. 22 to rob them of marijuana and cash. During the attack, one of the victims inside exchanged gunfire with the intruders.

Coffey, and Benson, 28, died at the scene. Jackson, shot in the abdomen, and Edmond, 28, survived their wounds.

Jackson was arraigned Monday morning by Madison County Common Pleas Court Judge Eamon Costello, who set his bond at $1.5 million.

The murder charge is connected to Coffey’s death. The felonious assault and attempted murder charges are related to Edmond’s injuries. The weapons charge relates to Jackson’s previous drug abuse record.

Nick Adkins, Madison County assistant prosecutor, said the new charges were expected.

“Between the initial indictment and the intervening indictment we received a lot of information, including DNA results,” from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations, Adkins said.

Jackson is scheduled for a jury trial April 2.
