Columbus police have ruled out foul play in a man’s death that was initially reported as a stabbing call Sunday morning.

George A. Arnold, 65, who lived on Belcher Drive, collapsed inside the front door of Quick & Easy Mart at the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and Belcher Drive around 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

Initially, witnesses thought he might have been stabbed. He was taken to Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center by Clinton Township medics where he was pronounced dead at 9:45 a.m., according to a police report.

“Mr. Arnold was not stabbed. He had a kidney dialysis port that ruptured causing the rapid loss of blood” that led to his death, according to the report.
