Central Ohio hiring likely to stay strong

- By Mark Williams

Central Ohio companies are expected to continue to add staff this spring, according to a new survey.

The Manpower survey released Tuesday morning shows that 25 percent of employers expect to add workers in the April 1-June 30 quarter; 5 percent say they will be cutting jobs. Of the rest, 69 percent say employment will remain steady and 1 percent say they don’t know what their hiring plans will be.

The 20-point spread between hiring and firing is up 1 point from the second quarter of 2017 and the first quarter of 2018.
