Thanks to students for leading the way

-

I stood outside of Bexley High School on Wednesday to support the students in their peaceful walk-out in protest of guns and gun violence.

I am so proud of these students and those all around Columbus and the rest of the country for following the lead of the Florida students. Thank you to the school administration for being open to providing an outlet for these students to see that their voices can make a difference in the world.

It gives me hope that these young people, the adults of tomorrow, will fight for what is right and maybe do a better job than our generation is doing. Because much of our generation has managed to give money and power to an organization that does not value the lives of our children, and politicians who sell their souls by taking money from this powerhouse. This has got to stop. This goes way beyond the Second Amendment, and everyone knows it.

So, thank you, students! Let’s hope now that we “grown-ups” can follow your lead.

Susie Stan Bexley their moral authority. In his determination to condemn the President’s critics and praise his supposed economic achievements, Thomas dismisses or carefully avoids the contradictions inherent in conservative Christians’ support for Trump. Sadly, in their zeal to open a new front in the culture wars, many Christians have abandoned their claim to the moral high ground. It’s not surprising that some who call themselves evangelicals are discarding that label. Through their uncritical embracing of a man who lacks honesty in business, fidelity to (multiple) spouses, decency in speech and behavior, respect for civil discourse and democratic norms, and any apparent adherence to the Ten Commandments, many conservative Christians have casually renounced God in their commitment to Mammon and political advantage.
