Cavs win after Lue begins leave

- From wire reports

CLEVELAND — Hours after coach Tyronn Lue began his leave of absence to address health issues, the Cleveland Cavaliers got one piece of good news in the return of All-Star forward Kevin Love and another memorable performance from LeBron James.

James scored 40 points as part of his third triple-double in four games and the Cavaliers beat the Milwaukee Bucks 124-117 on Monday night.

Lue said in a statement he has been dealing with chest pains and loss of sleep, and that tests have offered no conclusion about what the issue is. Associate head coach Larry Drew will run the team in Lue’s absence.

“While I have tried to work through it, the Cleveland’s LeBron James grabs a rebound over Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo during Monday’s game.

last thing I want is for it to affect the team. I am going to use this time to focus on a prescribed routine and medication, which has previously been difficult to start in the midst of a season,” Lue said.

Drew said he learned of Lue’s leave in a text message he received

from him at 1:30 a.m. saying, “It’s your show.”

James scored 17 points in the third quarter and finished with 12 rebounds and 10 assists for his 16th triple-double this season and 71st of his career.

Love returned after missing six weeks because of a broken left hand and scored 18 points in 25 minutes. He sparked a 10-0 run in the second quarter with two three-pointers.

Giannis Antetokounmpo had 37 points and went 11 of 11 at the foul line for Milwaukee.

PACERS 110, LAKERS 100: Victor Oladipo finished with 20 points, Myles Turner had 21 points and Indiana beat Los Angeles at home.

SPURS 89, WARRIORS 75: LaMarcus Aldridge had 33 points and 12 rebounds, and San Antonio pulled away from Golden State for a home victory. Already without Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson, the Warriors lost Draymond Green in the second quarter to a bruise in the pelvic area.
