New sirloin steak meal a hit with Napa diners

Napa Kitchen + Bar recently has switched up its menu, adding a few select dishes to its wine-friendly lineup.

The steak frites ($24) offers an 8-ounce Durham Ranch wagyu sirloin drizzled with chimichurri and paired with Parmesan garlic fries and bacon-roasted Brussels sprouts.

Keli Flanagan, general manager of the Dublin restaurant, said it’s been a big hit with customers.

“To add that steak option in the mid-$20 range has been really great for our guests,” Flanagan said.

Also new, the smoked-chicken tortellini ($16) gets a ladle of sriracha cream with caramelized onions and crispy pancetta. Smoked tomatoes offer an acidic counterpoint.

The farro-and-arugula salad with grilled chicken ($13) is a dish suited to summer weather, Flanagan said. The salad has a mix of crunchy vegetables plus fried chickpeas, creamy feta and hearty grains, all capped with a lemon vinaigrette. For something a little different, Napa chars romaine leaves on the grill (“hearts on fire” salad, $8) and garnishes the lettuce with crispy pancetta, hard-boiled eggs, shaved Parmesan and a creamy Caesar dressing.

The brunch menu is served on Sundays. Flanagan recommends the avocado and eggs ($11). A whole avocado is

split, grilled and topped with two poached eggs and greens and dressed with tomato vinaigrette and lemon vinaigrette. A choice of crispy potatoes or fruit salad is served.

Napa Kitchen + Bar — part of CityBrands, a small, locally based restaurant group that also operates Wine Bistro, Las Margaritas and Katzinger’s Deli locations — has been open for 18 months.

Flanagan said that Napa is a place for all people, whether they are looking for a lively bar scene or a quiet meal in the dining room.

“It’s really delicious food that everyone’s familiar with,” Flanagan said, “and knows it’s going to taste great every time they come in here.”
