PHOENIX — The Colorado Rockies scored 17 runs in winning their first two games in Arizona over the weekend.

Then they ran in to Zack Greinke.

The Arizona ace shut down one of baseball’s most powerful offenses on Sunday in a 6-1 victory that snapped the Rockies’ seven-game winning streak.

“Zack came out on a day when we could have been flat-lined and picked us up,” Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said. “And we jumped on his back and he carried us a long way today.”

ANGELS 14, ASTROS 5: Mike Trout drove in a teammate for the first time in more than a month, homering to cap a seven-run burst in seventh inning for the Los Angeles Angels in a rout of the Houston Astros on Sunday. ATHLETICS 6, GIANTS 5, 10 INNINGS: Jeurys Familia pitched two scoreless innings, Marcus Semien scored from second base on Matt Chapman’s infield chopper in the 10th, and the Athletics beat the San Francisco Giants on Sunday.

SYNDERGAARD TO DL: In the latest bizarre medical development for the baffling New York Mets, ace pitcher Noah Syndergaard is headed back to the disabled list after contracting handfoot-and-mouth disease. According to WebMD. com, hand-foot-andmouth disease most often occurs in children under 10 and is characterized by a rash of small blister-like sores on the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, and in the mouth.
