Cincinnati rallies past Ohio

Desmond Ridder led Cincinnati on a 92-yard fourth-quarter drive to take the lead and Ohio was stopped at the 1-yard line with 52 seconds left on James Wiggins’ intercepti­on to preserve the host Bearcats’ 34-30 victory over the Bobcats on Saturday.

A 3-yard TD run by Michael Warren II with 3:24 remaining completed the Bearcats’ rally from a 21-point deficit. Cincinnati (4-0) matched its win totals of the last two seasons.

Nathan Rourke passed for a TD and rushed for a score in the first half when Ohio (1-2) built a 21-0 lead.

It was the first meeting in 36 years in this rivalry that began in 1896. The Bearcats lead the series 24-23-4.
