Evans Farm will be site of next Parade of Homes
Next year's Parade of Homes will be held in Evans Farm, the "new urbanist" community in Delaware County.
The event, sponsored by the Building Industry Association of Central Ohio, returns to its traditional summer dates after being held in September the past four years.
The 2019 Parade will run July 13-28 and will feature 14 homes.
“For more than 60 years the Parade of Homes has been at the forefront of showcasing innovation and the latest trends by the homebuilding community of central Ohio. The 2019 Parade of Homes at Evans Farm continues that fine tradition by showcasing Ohio’s first community built in the style of new urbanism," BIA Executive Director Jon Melchi said in a news release.
Evans Farm is a 1,200-acre residential and commercial development in southern Delaware County that includes a variety of homes on small lots surrounding a small downtown and other amenities.
The community, on Lewis Center Road east of Rt. 23, is zoned for 2,182 single-family homes in a mix of traditional styles including Craftsman, Cape Cod and Victorian. In addition, the community is expected to include 900 attached and multifamily units.
“The 2019 BIA Parade of Homes at Evans Farm promises to be a unique experience for visitors. Evans Farm brings you the tradition of exceptional Parade homes in a walkable neighborhood that encourages connections with neighbors and nature," Evans Farm Land Development Co. cofounder Dan Griffin said.
The 14 homes are being built by 12 Ohio builders: 3 Pillar Homes, ALTA Design Build, Arthur Rutenberg Homes, Bob Webb Homes, Coppertree Homes, Cua Builders, Guzzo & Garner Custom Builders, Kenric Fine Homes, Maronda Homes, P & D Builders, Sierra Custom Homes and Stonecliff Homes.
Evans Farm broke ground in late 2016 and is scheduled to finish in 2027. Some of the features of the area include a community center, a YMCA, an elementary school and a retirement community.
