Byrd’s TD sends Whitehall past Dover

Raymell Byrd ran for two touchdowns and passed for another as Whitehall won at Dover 38-31 on Friday night in a Division II regional quarterfinal game.

Byrd completed eight of 15 passes for 110 yards and rushed 26 times for 161 yards for the Rams (10-1). He scored on a 1-yard run with 7:22 left in the game and ran for the two-point conversion to finish the scoring. Dover turned the ball over twice on fourth down after Byrd’s final score.

Alex Sayre completed 18 of 32 passes for 236 yards and a touchdown and ran for a score to help Dover (8-3) rally from a 23-3 first-quarter deficit.

WHITMER 20, OLENTANGY ORANGE 17: Kobe Myers scored on a 1-yard run with 1:52 remaining to push Toledo Whitmer (9-2) past visiting Olentangy Orange (7-4) in a Division I regional quarterfinal. Orange trailed 13-0 with 10:10 left in the third quarter but rallied to take a 17-13 lead after a 34-yard field goal by Aidan Hill and a pair of scoring runs by Robbie Dayhuff. Dayhuff, who threw an opening-drive interception and fumbled on Orange’s final possession, finished with a game-high 117 yards rushing and added 88 yards passing.

NORTHMONT 42, HILLIARD DARBY 20: Miles Johnson completed 20 of 23 passes for 303 yards and three touchdowns to lead Clayton Northmont (10-1) over visiting Hilliard Darby (8-3) in a Division I regional quarterfinal. Jack Stultz rushed for three scores for Darby Grandview’s Luke Lachey hauls in a reception against Paint Valley in a Division VI game at Chillicothe. Paint Valley won 39-36.

and Connor Jones paced the Panthers with 169 yards on 34 carries. Northmont takes on Pickerington Central next week.

EASTMOOR ACADEMY 34, HILLSBORO 14: Savon Edwards Jr. rushed for 182 yards and three touchdowns and also returned an interception 35 yards for a score as Eastmoor Academy (10-1) defeated visiting Hillsboro (9-2) in a Division III regional quarterfinal. Eastmoor picked off Hillsboro quarterback Mason Swayne three times, and the Warriors

averaged 8.9 yards per carry in the win (29 carries for 259 yards).

GRANVILLE 38, JACKSON 7: Cameron Crouch passed for 195 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown as Granville (10-1) defeated Jackson (7-4) in a Division III regional quarterfinal at Newark. The second-seeded Blue Aces advance to play sixth-seed Sheridan (10-1).

HARTLEY 51, ATHENS 14: Mason Sawyer and Philip Cole scored

two touchdowns each as Hartley (9-2) defeated visiting Athens (9-2) in a Division III regional quarterfinal. Miles Fleming led a balanced rushing attack for the Hawks with 98 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. Hartley rushed for 338 yards.

NORTHMOR 28, SOUTHEASTERN 16: Connor Becker ran for 139 yards and three touchdowns and added a pair of two-point conversions to lead host Northmor (10-1) past Chillicothe Southeastern (7-4) in a Division VI quarterfinal.
