County and a felony theft warrant from Delaware County.

A man who answered the door told deputies the woman was in the basement of the home, but deputies were not initially able to locate her.

Camera crews were following the deputies as they went back to the ground floor of the home, planning to send in a dog to apprehend the woman. However, a deputy who had remained in the basement located the woman hiding behind some boxes underneath the staircase.

Deputies placed the woman in handcuffs and allowed her to put on a jacket and shoes and socks before taking her outside. While the deputies were in the process of arresting the woman, a television in the basement bedroom was playing an adult video.

The sounds of the video were loud on the broadcast, which was airing nationally and in real time. Deputies scrambled to find a remote to mute the television as a woman could be heard moaning in the background.

The arrest became a viral hit as deputies took the woman outside, discussing her heroin addiction and expressing hope she would receive the treatment she needed.

The sheriff’s office, which was live-tweeting the episode, implored children watching to cover their ears. The case of Jake Boyd, who vanished in January 2017 while moving to the Columbus area, has been featured on an episode of the podcast “The Vanished.”
