According to Columbus police, multiple people called 911 about 6 p.m. Saturday to report a fight and shots fired near Africentric Early College K-12 on the 3200 block of Allegheny Avenue on the city’s East Side.

About 10 minutes later, a 17-year-old in a private vehicle arrived at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center with a gunshot wound in his left foot and a 20-year-old appeared at Ohio State University East Hospital in a private car with a wound to his upper right buttocks. Neither man’s injuries were seen as severe.

Both gunshot victims told police they had been shot at the school, and officers found multiple caliber shell casings at a distance apart, which police said indicate a shootout.

Witnesses told police there had been a fight in the school parking lot before the shooting.

The case remains under investigation.
