Grandview boys rally to top Worthingto­n Christian

Brian Collier and Luke Lachey fueled a second-half surge as visiting Grandview rallied to beat Worthingto­n Christian 62-56 in a Mid-State League Ohio Division boys basketball game on Saturday.

Collier scored nine of his game-high 21 points in the fourth quarter and added seven assists. Lachey had 12 of his 18 points in the third quarter. He added seven rebounds and four assists. Manny Day chipped in 11 points.

Trailing 42-39, Grandview (3-0, 1-0) went on a 19-4 run to take command.

DJ Moore scored 21 points and handed out five assists and Derrick Hardin had 17 points for Worthingto­n Christian (2-1, 0-1), which jumped to a 12-2 lead. WALNUT RIDGE 79, OLENTANGY ORANGE 53: VonCameron Davis had 29 points and eight rebounds for visiting Walnut Ridge (3-0) in its nonleague win at Olentangy Orange (2-2). Qian Magwood added 20 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and six steals for the Scots. Luke Ballinger had 27 points, including seven three-pointers, for Orange.

CENTENNIAL 83, INDEPENDEN­CE 72: Jaylen Gilbert scored 29 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, helping host Centennial (2-0) beat Independen­ce (0-3) in a nonleague game.

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP 59, CIRCLEVILL­E 56, OT: Tyler Block and Marquis Moore scored 15 points each and host Hamilton Township (2-1, 1-0) downed Circlevill­e (2-2, 0-1) in an MSL Buckeye game. Jay Styers (19 points) and Riley Gibson (18) led the way for Circlevill­e. HARVEST PREP 81, WELLINGTON 52: Christophe­r Anthony (22 points) and Elijah Glenn (20) led the way for host Harvest Prep (2-0, 1-0) in an MSL Cardinal rout of Wellington (1-3, 0-1). The Warriors outscored the Jaguars 28-6 in the second quarter to take command.

GAHANNA 80, LOGAN 66: Elijah Thomas hit six three-point shots and scored 29 points to pace host Gahanna (3-1) over Logan. Bo Myers had 34 points for Logan.

GIRLS

DUBLIN COFFMAN 68, OLENTANGY LIBERTY 50: Jacy Sheldon racked up game-high totals of 32 points, eight assists, eight rebounds and four steals to power Dublin Coffman (4-0) over Olentangy Liberty (3-2) in a nonleague contest at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. Sheldon, an Ohio State signee, went 12 of 19 from the field. HARTLEY 50, LANCASTER 41: Visiting Hartley (2-2) opened the second half on an 8-0 run and went on to defeat Lancaster (2-2) in a nonleague game. Chia Nwokolo led the Hawks with 12 points. Lancaster's Anna Hartig led all scorers with 21 points.
