WHERE I EAT

- — Eric Lagatta elagatta@dispatch.com @Ericlagatta

Q: How often do you eat out in a week?

A: At least twice a week.

Q: Do you have a go-to place?

A: I do go to South Village Grille (197 Thurman Ave.) often.

Q: What do you like there?

A: They have the best calamari. It’s super-crispy, and they put a really tasty sauce on top.

Q: Where do you like to go to mark a special occasion?

A: I love Service Bar (1230 Courtland Ave.)

Q: What do you like there?

A: Their food is always really fun and unique, and they do a twist on comfort food. They have a play on (the) cheesy gordita crunch from Taco Bell.

I’m vegetarian, and they (also) do one that’s a pimento cheese dip with pork rinds, but if you’re vegetarian, they have a tapioca cracker that’s really similar, and that is awesome.

Q. What’s your favorite place to eat at in your neighborhood?

A. Fox in the Snow (Cafe, 210 Thurman Ave., 1031 N. 4th St., and 160 W. Main St., New Albany) My

husband goes there so often that they just know him by name and know what he orders.

Q. What do you like there?

A. The egg sandwich is the best choice. All of their sweets are really good, too.

Q. Where do you go for a quick lunch during the workweek?

We order Clustertruck (delivery) at the office. They have a huge menu where there’s a Mexican section and a burger section and a breakfast section. (Recently) I ordered grilled cheese and tomato soup because it was cold and that sounded really comforting. Their taco salad is also really good.

Q. Where do you like to go for a fun night for drinks with friends?

A. They don’t have food, but we go to Char Bar (439 N. High St.) a lot because it’s close to my office and they have great drink specials.

Q. Do you have a favorite pizza place?

A. I really like Paulie Gee’s (1195 N. High St.), and Harvest (Pizzeria, multiple locations) is always a big hit. I guess the wood-fired pizza is the kind of pizza I prefer.

Q. Any other places you want to mention?

A. One place I really love and I feel like doesn’t get enough praise is G. Michael’s (Bistro and Bar; 595 S. 3rd St.) in German Village, and it’s been there forever. We’ll go there for date night. It’s always consistently so good, and the menu is creative. The quality there is so good.

Q. What do they do well there?

A. I think their style of food is a take on Southern American. Their menu is always changing, so I always get something different anytime I go.
