1 person killed in shooting at home on Northeast Side
A person is dead after a shooting Sunday evening on the Northeast Side, Columbus police said.
Police and fire were called at 6:37 p.m. to the 2100 block Schenley Drive after a caller told the 911 operator that "someone had been shot." There was screaming in the background but no other details on what happened.
When paramedics arrived, they found the person in trauma arrest. They were taken in critical condition to Ohiohealth Grant Medical Center.
The person was pronounced dead at 7:29 p.m. at Ohiohealth Grant Medical Center, Columbus police said.
Columbus police homicide detectives and a number of other officers were on the scene on the snow-covered residential street off of Woodland Avenue. A large area around the single-family house was cordoned off, and it was unclear whether the shooting occurred inside or outside.
