Grove City Walmart to add ‘Pickup Towers’

Central Ohio Walmart shoppers can soon save time picking up their groceries.

Walmart is launching its Pickup Towers at five Ohio stores, including the Grove City location at 1693 Stringtown Rd.

The 16-foot Pickup Towers operate like a “hi-tech vending machine.” The items are ordered through Walmart. com, placed in the towers by an employee and picked up by scanning a smartphone barcode.

Walmart Pickup Towers are also available at stores in other Ohio cities: New Boston, Findlay, Eaton and Tiffin.

Wendy’s settles data breach lawsuit for $50M

On Wednesday, the Dublinbase­d burger chain announced the pending agreement with financial institutio­ns that alleged Wendy’s did not protect customer credit card informatio­n.

Wendy’s said it will pay $27.5 million of the settlement, with the rest covered by insurance.

Wendy’s said 1,025 stores, all owned by franchisee­s, had malware that could have stolen customer data, such as credit or debit card numbers, names, expiration dates and more. Of the restaurant­s, 20 were in central Ohio.

AAA renews high ratings for 2 Columbus restaurant­s

since 1995.

A total of 656 restaurant­s across North America hold the AAA Four Diamond Rating, which denotes establishm­ents that “go above and beyond, delivering memorable dining experience­s,” said Michael Petrone, director of AAA Inspection­s & Diamond Ratings, in a statement.

The highest AAA rating, Five Diamond, is held by only one restaurant in Ohio: the Orchids at Palm Court in Cincinnati.

Red Roof adds NYC hotel to ‘boutique’ brand

The Lord & Moris hotel at 305 W. 39th St. in New York joined the Red Collection in late January.

A check of the hotel’s website on Thursday showed weekend rates ranging from $139 to $369 for a one-night stay in March. The hotel, located near Times Square and the Theater District, has 78 guest rooms.
