First marijuana dispensary in central Ohio opening

Central Ohio’s first medical marijuana dispensary is set to open Tuesday near Grandview Heights.

The developers, Terrasana Cannabis Company, offered a sneak preview of the shop, at 656 Grandview Ave. on the West Side.

Terrasana is the first of five medical marijuana dispensari­es set to open in Columbus.

Bristol Republic brings country to Short North

The owner of Bodega bar and restaurant plans to add some twang to the Short North next month with the opening of Bristol Republic.

Bristol will feature barbecue, whiskey and live country music on the weekends at 1124 N. High St. in the 5,000-square-foot space formerly occupied by Basil.

“It’s not going to be honky-tonk style,” owner Brian Swanson said. “It’s going to be like Nashville.”

Bristol Republic is collaborat­ing with Smoked on High BBQ for the food.

DSW changing name to Designer Brands

DSW announced that it will change its parent name to Designer Brands as it posted disappoint­ing earnings for the fourth quarter.

The Columbus-based shoe retailer reported a loss of 7 cents a share for the quarter; analysts had expected a 5-cent-per-share profit. Shares fell 12 percent on Tuesday and ended the week down 20 percent.

A new stock ticker abbreviati­on, DBI, will launch on April 2. The stores will continue to be called DSW.

300-acre developmen­t OK’D in Delaware County

Delaware County approved a nearly 300-acre developmen­t in Orange Township that will include single-family homes and about 300 condominiu­ms and apartments, a seniorcare facility, retail space, offices and “light industrial.”

The developmen­t is east of U.S. 23 and will straddle Home Road.

Schottenst­ein Real Estate Group is developing the housing portion, to be called Orange Grand Communitie­s.
