India reschedule­s launch of its mission to moon

India’s space agency said it will launch a spacecraft to the south pole of the moon on Monday, after stopping an attempt this week.

The Indian Space Research Organizati­on said the Chandrayaa­n-2 launch is now set for 2:43 p.m. Monday. It said Thursday that the cause of the previous technical snag had been identified and corrected.

The earlier launch attempt on Monday was called off less than an hour before the 640-ton, 14-story rocket launcher lifted off.

Chandrayaa­n, the Sanskrit word for “moon craft,” is designed to land on the lunar south pole and send a rover to explore water deposits that were confirmed by a previous mission that orbited the moon. sending the convicted Mexican drug lord known as El Chapo to an ultra-highsecuri­ty prison where he will serve a life sentence.

Defense Attorney Jeffrey Lichtman said Thursday that Joaquin Guzman was whisked away by helicopter only a few hours after his sentencing in New York City on Wednesday.

He says authoritie­s would tell him only that his client was enroute to the supermax facility in Florence, Colorado.

Stevens died Tuesday at age 99. He served nearly 35 years as a justice before retiring in 2010.

Members of the public can pay their respects from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., following a private ceremony in the court’s Great Hall.

U.S. District Judge Christine Arguello gave final approval to the $65.5 million deal for au pairs on Thursday in Denver.

About 160,000 au pairs who came to the United States to work from 2009 to late 2018 had the potential to receive money under the settlement, but about 10,000 filed claims.

The deal also requires that agencies authorized by the State Department to connect au pairs with families notify both parties that au pairs can negotiate to be paid more than the minimum $195.75 a week required by the department. The agencies didn’t admit any wrongdoing under the deal.
