Revolution salvages tie with Sounders

SEATTLE — Carlos Gil converted a penalty in the 87th minute to give the New England Revolution a 3-3 tie with the Seattle Sounders on Saturday.

The penalty kick was awarded when Seattle’s Jordy Delem was called for a hand ball on Gil’s attempted cross in the penalty area.

Michael Mancienne scored in the 27th minute and Gustavo Bou in the 35th to give the Revolution (9-9-7) a 2-1 lead. Marcienne’s goal was his first, and Bou’s was his third in just five MLS games since joining New England in July.

Harry Shipp and Nico Lodeiro scored 1:03 apart midway through the second half to put Seattle (11-7-6) in front 3-2. Shipp’s goal was his second of the game. He put the Sounders ahead 1-0 just 1:42 into the game. Lodeiro’s was his fifth.

The tie helped Seattle avoid what would have been a club-record third straight home defeat.

TORONTO FC 1, ORLANDO CITY 1: Patrick Mullins tied it in the 77th minute and Toronto (9-11-5) played to a draw with Orlando City (8-11-6) in Toronto. Benji Michel scored for Orlando City in the 69th minute. Toronto midfielder Marky Delgado was issued a yellow card in the 34th minute for a hard tackle on Nani. The Orlando midfielder stayed in the game after a brief delay for examinatio­n by the medical staff. In the 82nd minute, Orlando’s Lamine Sane was shown a yellow card for a hard tackle.

FC DALLAS 5, MINNESOTA UNITED 3: Brandon Servania scored two goals, Michael Barrios had three assists and Dallas (10-9-6) beat Minnesota (11-8-5) in Frisco, Texas. Servania came on in the 75th minute and scored his first MLS goal in the 85th with a sliding finish from point-blank range of a cross by Barrios. The 20-year-old homegrown making his 10th career appearance then capped the scoring with a sidefooter from the top of the 6-yard box in the third minute of stoppage time. Minnesota United had a seven-game unbeaten streak snapped. It lost for the first time since a 1-0 loss to Colorado on June 8. Ryan Hollingshe­ad, Santiago Mosquera and Reggie Cannon also scored for Dallas. Ethan Finlay scored twice and Hassani Dotson also had a goal for Minnesota.
