Bexley’s rally takes down Hamilton Township

Bryan Williams made a rebound basket with 10 seconds remaining Tuesday night and host Bexley rallied from a four-point deficit in the final 22 seconds to edge Hamilton Township 48-47 in a nonleague boys basketball game.

Damien Davis, who led all scorers with 25 points, hit a threepoint­er with 22 seconds remaining to cut the deficit to one. After a timeout, the Lions stole the ball during a backcourt trap. Bexley (4-13) missed the layup, but Williams was there for the putback. Hamilton Township (7-10) missed a three-point attempt as time expired.

Davis, who scored 18 points after halftime, went 9 of 14 from the field and 5 of 5 at the free throw line.

NEW ALBANY 64, OLENTANGY ORANGE 55:

Justin Perry scored 16 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter, lifting host New Albany (11-6) to a nonleague win over Orange (10-6). Jason Foster had 22 points for the Pioneers. NORTHLAND 52, EAST 47:

Makhale Massey scored 18 points and Northland (9-7, 9-2) won at East (3-14, 1-10) to keep pace in the City League North race with co-leaders Beechcroft and Linden. Cedric Norvette had 20 points for East.

WHETSTONE 50, MIFFLIN 42: Caleb Brigle scored 20 points and Jaden Arledge chipped in 14 points and 14 rebounds, helping host Whetstone (4-13, 4-6) beat Mifflin (9-9, 6-5) in City North play. DESALES 69, JOHNSTOWN 47: Four players scored 16 points or more for host Desales (14-3) in its nonleague win over Johnstown (9-7). Desmond Watson scored 19 points, Kobe Righter and Atticus Schuler scored 17 each and Austin Mann 16, for the Stallions, who pulled away with a 24-11 fourth quarter.

MARYSVILLE 45, DUBLIN SCIOTO 36: Jack Christian made 5 of 6 free throws and scored seven of his 14 points in the fourth quarter, lifting host Marysville (10-6) to a nonleague win over Dublin Scioto (9-7). HILLIARD DARBY 45, WATTERSON 42: Parker Hambel scored 17 points and host Darby (4-11) held on to edge Watterson (7-9) in a nonleague game. Boone Davis had 19 points for Watterson, which was unable to pull closer than four until making a shot as time expired.

INDEPENDEN­CE 55, EASTMOOR ACADEMY 52, OT: Alasha Smoot hit a pivotal threepoint­er in overtime and Independen­ce (13-6, 9-3) pulled out a City League South game at Eastmoor (10-10, 8-5). Danica Graham had 16 points, eight rebounds and four steals to pace the Stars, who rallied from a five-point deficit in the final 2:30 of regulation. Kal’vonna Leeper had a game-high 18 points for Eastmoor. WORTHINGTO­N CHRISTIAN 43, BUCKEYE VALLEY 40: Megan Mayotte hit a go-ahead basket at the one-minute mark and Worthingto­n Christian (15-3, 11-1) made its free throws down the stretch for a Mid-state League Ohio Division win at Buckeye Valley (9-9, 6-6). Katherine Weakley had 19 points to lead the Warriors.

HILLIARD DAVIDSON 42, DUBLIN SCIOTO 39:

Sydney Peterson hit a three-pointer with 17 seconds remaining, giving Davidson (9-10) a nonleague victory at Scioto (12-6). Kierstyn Liming had 18 points for the Wildcats.

LANCASTER 39, OLENTANGY ORANGE 37:

Brittney Azbell scored 15 points and Riley Spangler 13 for host Lancaster (8-10), which held off a late charge by Orange (2-16) in a nonleague game. The Pioneers erased a ninepoint deficit in the fourth quarter, but a last-second three-point try by Kayla Delmore rimmed out.
