to video-on-demand, the film produced and directed by “Daily Show” alum Jon Stewart attempts to pull off political satire based on old news. To wit: Chris Cooper plays Jack Hastings, a grizzled Midwesterner whose progressive speech gets noticed by a Democratic Party operative (played by Steve Carrell), who then flies into town to try and get Jack elected mayor. A female Republican operative arrives to thwart that plan. Prepare for seeing all the 2016 election cliches again.

Another notable release: “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2” (Playstation 4, Xbox One)

“Chemtrails Over the Country Club” (Lana Del Rey): The singersongwriter and six-time Grammy Award nominee has been writing poetry (she has an upcoming book and already has released a spoken-word album to accompany), but she also found time to put out a more conventional album.
