No doubt Trump is messing with the presidential election

-

I have many friends who love and support President Donald Trump. Everyone has their right to speak their opinion under the First Amendment, and, even if I don’t agree with them, I still support their rights.

However, those friends of mine, do you still support Trump after he publicly tells the citizens of North Carolina to vote twice (USA TODAY article, Dispatch. com, Thursday)?

Chicago is not in North Carolina. Should anyone be seriously concerned?

Dispatch should be alarmed by violence fomented by the left

In response to the Wednesday Dispatch editorial “Voters need to note who is stoking violence,” I agree that voters need to note this. And the evidence is very clear.

First, the violence is being perpetrated by anarchists across the nation, hiding under the cloak of the various peaceful protests. But for three months, this violence has been condemned by one political party, which spoke about it and which attempted to stop it, and was completely ignored by the other, which supported bailing out the perpetrators.

Ignoring violence is silently lending support to it. And thus, stoking it. As The Dispatch noted, voters should indeed make note of this.

Like The Dispatch, I too pray that voters make note of this.

Vitale has nerve criticizing Dewine, who has kept Ohioans safe

Recently a group of Republican legislators sponsored a move to impeach Gov. Mike Dewine. He has been praised as a leader who has followed medical advice in his fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, most notably from former Ohio Health Director Amy Acton, a respected medical professional.

He has been completely transparent in his approach to keep Ohioans safe, in saving lives, with his almost-daily press briefings. And he’s taken tough measures when necessary, which have reduced the ravages of COVID-19, kept Ohioans alive and ultimately kept businesses open. Other governors have not taken such steps and they’ve had to backtrack and re-close businesses.

Now we see legislators like Rep. Nino Vitale, joined by other Republicans, trying to impeach Dewine. Ohio Republican Party Chair Jane Timken “issued a scathing condemnation of the trio of conservatives,” calling the move “a baseless, feeble attempt at creating attention for themselves.” Ohio House Speaker Bob Cupp, a Republican, called it an “imprudent attempt” to cause “a state constitutional crisis.”

Vitale has blasted the wearing of masks and somehow evoked the Bible as reason for not wearing them. I wonder whether Nino wears a seatbelt in his car or on an airplane? Does he take those measures to protect himself and others even though there’s no mention of them in the Bible?

If I lived in his district, I’d do everything possible to replace him with someone with intelligence, common sense and an understanding of science and medicine.

Make driver’s license renewal easy and convenient — by mail

Social distancing and the COVID-19 precautions be damned, according to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. I spent almost two hours at the license agency with my 40 closest friends waiting to renew my driver’s

license just because I turned a year older. All of this crowding and unnecessary interaction could have been avoided if the BMV would have sent my renewal application by mail just like they send my yearly vehicle registration.

The government is supposed to serve us, not the other way around, especially in these trying times.
