But not all the violence recently has been in the city.

Franklin County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Rick Minerd announced Thursday that the person killed in a homicide Tuesday in Franklin Township was one of four suspects in an attempted robbery.

According to Minerd and court documents, the four suspects attempted to rob a 28-year-old man at a gunpoint around 11:20 p.m. Tuesday as the victim was walking in the 300 block of Nationwide Boulevard in Franklin Township. But the victim reached into his pocket and pulled out a gun of his own and shots were exchanged.

The sheriff's office also announced Thursday the arrest of 18-year-old Isaiah Tucker, of North Linden, in connection with the Oct. 8 shooting death of 15year-old Nofier Cannon in Mifflin Township.

Tucker and his brother, Keyshawn Tucker, were looking to find the person who stole a car driven by Keyshawn Tucker from a Mifflin Township carryout around 11 p.m. Oct. 8. The pair thought they knew who had stolen the vehicle and Tucker drove another vehi

Tucker dropped his brother off near the home of the person whom the brothers believed had stolen the car. Tucker then saw the stolen vehicle, according to court records, and pursued it on Rankin Avenue.

At some point, Cannon got out of the car and ran. Court records state a witness told deputies that Tucker pulled out a firearm and fired more than 10 rounds at Cannon from inside the vehicle. Cannon was struck and died from his injuries.

A different witness heard Tucker on speaker phone talking about the homicide and disposing of the firearm, court records state.
