VETERANS DAY OPENINGS, CLOSINGS

-

Veterans Day is Wednesday. Because of the holiday:

h Post offices are closed, and there will be no regular mail delivery.

h Federal, state, county, city, other government offices and schools are closed.

h The Columbus Parking Services Division is closed, and parking meters are free, but parking restriction signage at some meters will be enforced, including but not limited to morning and evening rush hours and zones marked for valets, taxis, loading, handicappedonly and residential parking permit zones. Motorists are advised to read signs.

h There is no trash collection in Columbus on Veterans Day. For residents assigned a trash-color code, your collection schedule will rotate one weekday forward until the next holiday, Thanksgiving Day. For those without a color code, if your collection day falls on Veterans Day or later this week, your collection will be delayed one day, with Friday collection on Saturday. Rumpke biweekly recycling and yard-waste collection also is delayed by one day, with Friday’s collection on Saturday.

h All Ohio State University and Columbus State Community College campuses are closed.

h Columbus Metropolitan Library branches are open.

h Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) will operate on a regular service schedule. All veterans and active-duty personnel who present a veteran or military identification card ride free. Schedules/timetables for each line are available at www.cota.com.

There will be no Veterans Day parade this year in Downtown Columbus due to the coronavirus pandemic.
