Hilda Estelle Lantz, 83, of St. Clairsvill­e, Ohio, died January 20, 2021 in Mount Carmel Grove City. She was born April 22, 1937 in Rochester, Pennsylvan­ia, daughter of the late Charles W. Shirbish Sr. and Lubi Helena Kirin Shirbish. Hilda was a retired food service manager of the former Belmont Habilitati­on Center in St. Clairsvill­e and former employee of OSU Extension. She was a member of Thoburn United Methodist Church where she had previously been active in the Choir and had been a founder of the Ladies Chorus. Hilda was a member of the Order of Eastern Star former Byesville Chapter and a member of Alpha Pi

Sigma Epsilon Chapter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John D. “Jack” Lantz, a brother Charles “Wayne” Shirbish Jr., son-inlaw John M. “Mike” Hennis, father-in-law and mother-inlaw John H. and Geraldine Lantz. Surviving are her three children, John W. (Deb) Lantz of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvan­ia, Barbara Hennis of Columbus, Ohio and Ann (Patrick) Heischman of Grove City, Ohio; three grandsons, Zachary and Tyler Heischman and John Hennis; a great grandchild, Milo Heischman; a brother, Thomas “Gary” (Beverly) Shirbish of Allyn, Washington; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Jane

Shirbish of Jerusalem, Ohio and Sue (William) Ralston of Harrisvill­e, Ohio; two nieces and two nephews, Will Ralston, Lauri Boehi, Tom Shirbish and Kelli Mays. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing and facial coverings will be required during visitation at Thoburn United Methodist Church on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8pm, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1pm, with Rev. Dr. Bradley Call officiatin­g. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Colerain, Ohio. Memorial contributi­ons may be made St. Clairsvill­e Area Council of Churches Food Pantry.
