LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Voter wants politicians who get things done, don’t play partisan blame games

-

Like Patty Cohan’s Sunday letter “We need middleground candidate to replace Portman,” I too vote for the person not the party.

I am an independent voter who is sick of both political parties blaming the other for not accomplishing their work. We sent representatives to Congress to do the nation’s work. The American people do not want excuses – reach across the aisle to compromise on important issues and pass needed legislation.

I had to register as a Republican for the 2016 primary as I wanted to vote for John Kasich. I had to register as Democrat for the 2020 primary as I wanted to vote for Joe Biden. Both men are open to working with their political opponents. I had a T-shirt made that reads “Biden 2020 Kasich 2024.”

Halfway there.
